Turn your creativity into marketable design skills with a BFA degree in Graphic & Web Design
As the lines between graphic design and web design become less defined, employers are starting to look for both graphic designers with interactive skills and web developers with solid design skills. If you’re considering either direction, the BFA in Graphic & Web Design degree program at The Art Institute of Tampa, a branch of Miami International University of Art & Design, is the place to start.
Graphic & Web Design, 2014 (BFA) Alumnus Joshua Zeff | The Art Institute of Tampa:
“Everything from the assignments to the deadlines and the critique sessions mentally prepared me to communicate my creations and gave me a sense of what it would really be like to work in the real world.”
Your graphic design courses and web design courses will focus on conceptual thinking while developing technical and creative design skills. You’ll start the visual design degree program in Tampa by studying the basics of visual communication: color, composition, illustration, and image manipulation. You will move on to solving specific graphic and web design challenges using industry techniques, software, and technology. You’ll choose either a Graphic Design or Web Design concentration as you begin to work toward a future where you can do what you love.
Graphic & Web Design, 2013 (BFA) Alumnus Jenna Mack | The Art Institute of Tampa:
"[My] instructors' drive and passion in design was inspiring. I know I could still go to them today for advice if I needed it."
Our faculty* know what it takes to succeed. Throughout your graphic design classes and web design classes, they’ll offer one-on-one mentorship and feedback, pushing you to be bold, to experiment, and to explore new ideas and ways of thinking.
